Football is big in New York City, with two fiercely supported local NFL teams—the Giants and Jets—playing just across the river at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium. If you’re not seeing the game in person, you can catch it on TV at one of hundreds of local hangouts. Fans of all other teams should rest assured too; as America’s biggest city, NYC has bars and restaurants across all five boroughs that cater to NFL and college football teams from around the country. Local and visiting supporters looking to eat, drink and watch together are certain to find a warm welcome.
The recommendations below are known as gathering spots for fans for specific teams, but they are also fun bars with a cool scene throughout the week—and frequently good for watching other teams and sports as well.
