EventsChristmas in Historic Richmond Town
A horse-drawn carriage with people rides down a street lined with historic houses. Spectators in winter clothing watch, and lampposts are decorated with garlands and bows. A small dog walks at the bottom right.
A child wearing a purple jacket and striped hat uses green scissors to cut gold glitter paper at a red table covered in craft supplies, including glue bottles and various materials.
A crowd gathers at night in front of a large, decorated building with columns, illuminated by hanging star-shaped lights and festive wreaths, creating a warm holiday atmosphere.

Description

Any day is a good day to visit Historic Richmond Town to get a taste of what life was like during simpler times. The living history museum is known for its many themed events and annual traditions, but its charm really comes through on the one-weekend-only Christmas celebration. Visitors will be enchanted by the museum’s transformation into an old-fashioned holiday wonderland full of demonstrations, gifts, crafts, treats and eats; there’s even a horse-drawn carriage. And, of course, no Christmas celebration would be complete without a visit from Santa and his helpers. A free tree lighting event takes place the Friday beforehand, December 4, from 5 to 6pm.
