Description

The annual Museum Mile Festival, presented as part of Founded By NYC, the citywide commemoration of New York City's 400th anniversary, offers free admission to some of the world’s finest art collections during extended evening hours. The stretch of Fifth Avenue between 82nd and 110th Streets on Manhattan's Upper East Side is home to eight participating institutions—the Africa Center, El Museo del Barrio, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, the Jewish Museum, Neue Galerie New York and the Museum of the City of New York. The festival kicks off at 6pm, rain or shine; check each museum's website for exhibits, public programming and more details.
