303 Gallery
Description
For more than four decades, 303 Gallery has had various iterations around New York City, including an initial exhibition space at 303 Park Avenue South. Early on, solo shows featured such cutting-edge artists as Vito Acconci and Andreas Gursky, as well as curatorial projects by Christopher Wool and Robert Gober, who at that time were relative unknowns. One of the first galleries to relocate to west Chelsea—formerly a remote warehouse district—303 now represents such established artists as Doug Aitken, Stephen Shore, Mary Heilmann and Sue Williams.
