Description

The Morgan Library & Museum is a museum and independent non-circulating research library located in Manhattan's Murray Hill neighborhood. Originally the private library of financier, collector, and cultural benefactor J. Pierpont Morgan (1837–1913), it features an extraordinary collection of manuscripts, rare books, drawings, photography, printed music scores, and objects ranging from 4,000 BCE to the present day. Known for its historic library, striking architecture, and rotating exhibitions that explore human creativity, the Morgan believes that meaningful engagement with art, literature, music, and history enriches lives and deepens understanding.
