Van Brunt Stillhouse

Description

This artisanal, small-batch distillery harks back to an era before Prohibition, when Brooklyn’s waterfront was home to gin, rum and whiskey distilleries. Taking its name from Cornelius Van Brunt, one of the original Dutch settlers of the borough, the stillhouse handcrafts moonshine, whiskey, rum and, uniquely, grappa. Their tasting room and cocktail bar is open Friday to Sunday. To get a glimpse at how Van Brunt produces its spirits, sign up for a public or private tour of the stillhouse via the website. There, you’ll also find a list of stores where Van Brunt liquors are sold.
