Description

A membership organization since 1825, the National Academy of Design is dedicated to 19th-, 20th- and 21st-century American art, with a permanent collection of more than 5,000 works that run the gamut from naturalistic, idyllic landscapes to jarring, modernist portraits. Rotating special exhibits shine a light on homegrown painters and sculptors, both famous and obscure.
