Newark Liberty International Airport

Description

Located just 14 miles outside of Manhattan, this New Jersey airport opened in 1928 (the dedication ceremony featured an appearance by Amelia Earhart). With 24,000 employees, 101 gates and a 425-acre central terminal area, the airport served more than 40 million people in 2016. New York's first major airport is also the hub for both United Airlines and Fed Ex.
