Description
Leonard Lauder is best known for his modern art collections. This exhibition, drawn from his archive of more than 100,000 postcards, shows a passion for architecture and the City that stemmed from when he was a child. Lauder began by buying postcards at a Woolworths located in the Empire State Building. The cards on display capture the City and the novelty of urban life; augmenting them are contemporaneous items from the museum's own collection.
